Quality appliance, but heavy! November 26, 2007 suzann nicole (Tampa, FL) 45 out of 46 found this review helpful
Just got mine in the mail! One thing you must know before buying this appliance is that it weighs about 15 pounds or so- Heavy. This makes it difficult to store away when not in use. No problem if you have lots of counter space, but I prefer my small counter to be free of appliances. I wasn't prepared for it- my old one weighed only about 5 lbs and I could easily whip it out when I needed it.
That being said, it looks great on the counter. It is a nicely designed product, inside and out. Easy to clean, not too big or too small.
7/14/09 UPDATE: I am still in love with this appliance! I use it all the time.
04/04/10 update: Still loving it! You won't regret this purchase.
A Great Little Food Processor! July 31, 2009 E. Bianchi 31 out of 31 found this review helpful
The folks who designed this food processor deserve a lot of credit. They came up with a great little appliance.
Key points:
It is easy to clean! What can't be thrown in the dishwasher is easy to wipe clean.
It is a convenient size. Processes enough food for several people, but stores easily.
It is powerful. Slices, mixes and grates just about anything without a problem.
It is simple. Goes together and comes apart easily.
The price is right. You get a very solid and useful food processor for your money.
Most important -- it is safe. It won't turn on unless it is properly assembled. (Recently I've seen some cheap knock-off kitchen appliances -- especially a blender -- that were NOT safe! They should not be on the market, but they are. Think twice about bargain off-brand appliances!)
Can I pick at anything? Sure. No appliance is perfect.
It is surprisingly heavy for its small size. But that's probably due to quality construction.
The slicing/grating disk can be a bit hard to disassemble. And you have to be careful -- it is sharp!
The slicing/grating disk can flex during processing if you press down too hard. (Solution -- don't press down too hard!)
Food can get impacted inside the cap behind the feed chute. Takes a bit of fussing with the rubber scraper to clean.
But, overall, you get a good, handy appliance for a fair price. One that should last you a long time and give you great service.
And no, I don't work for Kitchen Aid, or have any other tie to the company. But I do think people deserve credit when they do a good job!

Update July 13, 2010
The bad news, it is possible to break this unit by lifting it wrong. If you get in the habit of picking it up by the food container's handle, the plastic coupling on the upper housing will eventually break. I found that out the hard way.
The good news, I was able to repair it, although I had to replace the whole upper housing to do it. That ran into money, and also required skills the average Joe Homeowner isn't going to have. Still, now that it has been repaired, it continues to shred and slice wonderfully. It has plenty of power and it remains super-easy to clean.
I'm not going to downgrade my rating. I was abusing the unit, and I should have known it. Also I was also picking it up and moving it every time I used it, which most users probably won't do. I can't really criticize the designers for failing to totally idiot-proof their product.
So always lift this food processor by the base of the unit, and it will last a very, very long time.
Love it! October 11, 2009 S. Marshall (Wa state) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
How many ways can you say "love it"? I bought this because my small 3 cup chopper was just too small these days. It had been such a good little machine for so many years I decided to go with it's big brother and I'm glad I did. It is simply perfect. It's incredibly quiet, chops quickly and easily. I use it every single morning of my life to finely chop a variety of fresh produce to feed parrots. It gets a workout. You won't be sorry if you buy this model.
Fantastic vendor and product! July 20, 2008 Susan Smith (Houston, TX United States) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Had some questions and the vendor couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Product fantastic, as well. Would HIGHLY recommend. GREAT SITE ! ! !
Quiet and Powerful! October 2, 2009 Leah 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I have only used this once, but I was pleasantly surprised about it's power! And for such power, it is so quiet! I can now use my food processor while my daughter is napping (the only time I get anything done!) and not worry about waking her. The final product was very smooth and didn't leave any chunks. If I have any problems after my next couple uses, I will be sure to update!
