Product Description This is the Mighty Mouse of food processors! This little power package chops, grates, grinds and purEes small amounts of food with amazing speed and control. The reversible blade allows you to cut soft food like herbs and onions and hard food like chocolate and nuts.
Amazon.com Review The Mini-Mate makes quick work of small kitchen prep jobs that might otherwise require difficult and messy chopping, grinding, and grating: nuts, nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks, peppercorns and seeds, garlic and anchovies, even chocolate and citrus peel. With a patented reversible blade for sharp or blunt processing, and two speeds of operation, it is well equipped to handle a variety of jobs. Though it has a high-speed motor and durable stainless-steel motor shaft, keep in mind that the Mini-Mate is designed for small amounts of food: 2 tablespoons is the maximum recommended for one batch, and food pieces should be no larger than 1/2 inch. Purchase it to complement, not replace, a larger, full-function food processor. An instruction book that accompanies the processor details how to process many common foods and troubleshoot problems so you know how to best use and care for your Mini Mate. Cleanup and completion of small jobs is quicker and more efficient because of the small size, though the many parts of the Mini Mate require disassembly, careful cleaning, and reassembly, which does add to total cleaning time. If you don't have the time or the patience for smaller detail-oriented prep jobs, Mini Mate is a great kitchen aid. --Emily Wolf

Perfect for small spice/herb grinder/mincer October 29, 2001 Brian Massey (SF Bay Area, USA) 50 out of 54 found this review helpful
Cooking Thai, Viet, Chinese, Indian dishes requires quick chopping/mincing/grinding/puree of *multiple* spices. I searched all over for something of small size for per-meal quantities. This is it! Just a few pulses, and you have minced garlic, galanga, lemongrass, coriander, ginger, chili peppers, whatever. Works good too on small quantities of nuts, and even coffee beans, in a pinch. Another review says several pieces to wash; I don't get that, you just have the included bowl and blade thingee to rinse. The motor top doesn't get messy because it's on top; you just sponge it off when done. Love mine; inexpensive and to purpose. Perfect for that mini-spice/herb/food-processor you've been looking for. Enjoy!
Cuisinart Mini-Chopper October 28, 2002 Richard J Philabaum (Roscoe, Minnesota) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This kitchen appliance is not new by any means. I have owned one for at least 8 years. It does what its designed to do. Excellant for grinding whole coffee beans, nuts, seeds. No break downs which means repair cost. Excellant product in my kitchen.

Quick and easy May 6, 2007 Greg Stoddart (Chicago, IL USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great little processor. It has two speeds which is handy, and a double sided blade - one side sharp for dicing and the other side blunter for pureeing. The slower speed is more than powerful enough for most foods. It works best by giving a few short pulses rather than letting it run for too long, otherwise only the food at the bottom near the blade gets chopped.. and eventually mushed. I wanted something this size to make small amounts of ingredients for recipes. It's tremendous for garlic, nuts, herbs, onion, pepper. A few short pulses and it's done. I also tried mixing the topping for carrot cake the other day and it worked a treat.
Clean up is straight forward. Two seconds to wipe off the top part which holds the motor (don't rinse in water), and rinse off the bowl and blade.
It's very compact so takes up little room.
It comes with a little spatula which is the ideal size for scooping out food from the mixing bowl.
Don't expect to use it for all your processing needs but for certain tasks it's well worth it.

We are from South India, a culture with a lot of history in spices and cooking, after we moved to States my wife found it hard do the same kind of cooking that was possible with blenders(we call them mixer and grinder back home) in India until one of our friends recommended this, and since then we were able to use this small but powerful grinder to create many of our favorite dishes.
* Worth money
* Easy to clean
* Powerful Grinder
* Makes life easy &
* Results are satisfying
